Mehran Haar
The Mehran Haar from Orah Jewels & Crafts is a radiant centerpiece of the Hala Collection, named for the Mehran River that flows through Sindh, symbolizing continuity and cultural depth. This necklace embodies the rhythmic geometry of Hala city’s shrine tilework, with flame-shaped motifs and arabesque filigree echoing the interlocking symmetry of Sindhi ornamentation.
The necklace features natural lapis lazuli stones, sourced directly from the legendary mines of Badakhshan, Afghanistan. Each stone carries the deep indigo saturation of lazurite, flecked with golden pyrite and softened by calcite, presenting a celestial matrix unmatched in brilliance. Historically treasured across civilizations, lapis here becomes the soul of the composition, its raw beauty enhanced by ornate brass bead spacers.
Balancing the richness of lapis are delicate pearls, their soft luminescence woven into the design to create harmony between light and depth. Together, pearls and lapis embody the duality of Sindhi artistry—radiance and mystery, purity and power.
At the center hangs an intricate brass pendant, crafted with symmetrical filigree patterns inspired by shrine mosaics. Brass, long used in Sindhi ornamental traditions, lends golden warmth and structural reliability, ensuring the pendant frames the lapis without overpowering its natural brilliance.
Handmade at the Orah Jewels & Crafts facility in Lahore, the Mehran Haar is the result of a twelve-year trade relationship that ensures direct sourcing of lapis from Badakhshan. Each stone is carefully selected for lazurite saturation, calcite distribution, and pyrite brilliance before being cut and set with precision.
