Chandni - Aquamarine/Ruby Necklace

The Chandni pendant by Orah Jewels pairs raw aquamarine from Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan with a raw ruby from Hunza, set together in sterling silver. The name Chandni means moonlight in Urdu - the aquamarine earns the reference: its pale blue-green is caused by iron in the beryl crystal, the same mineral series that produces emerald.

Keeping both stones raw preserves the natural color gradation and surface texture that cutting removes. The contrast between cool blue and deep crimson in a single setting reflects that both stones come from Pakistan's northern mountain belt - a shared origin in very different stone.
