Meena - Fluorite and Brown Onyx Brass Earrings

Rs.3,000

From the Gulzar collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Meena is a pair of brass earrings combining Fluorite and Brown Onyx in a handcrafted form. The name means "enamel" or "sky blue" in Persian, referencing the soft color quality of the fluorite. The two stones bring together opposite ends of the natural palette: the shifting soft tones of fluorite and the grounded warm brown of onyx, in a pairing that balances without matching.

Fluorite is sourced from Baluchistan, where it occurs in sedimentary formations with a natural cubic crystal structure. Its range of color, from pale violet to sea green, is produced by trace impurities of rare earth elements embedded in the calcium fluoride matrix. Fluorite is optically distinctive for its internal luminosity and the wide tonal spectrum visible within a single stone. Brown Onyx comes from Baluchistan as well, where banded chalcedony deposits form through gradual silica deposition in sedimentary rock. The brown banding in onyx is produced by iron oxide compounds drawn into the microcrystalline quartz lattice during the stone's formation. Its surface carries a matte to satin finish that sits differently from the glassier fluorite, grounding the earring's palette and anchoring the softer stone's color variation.

Meena measures 2 inches, a drop length that reads clearly at the ear without becoming heavy. The aged brass construction holds the two stones in a setting that reads unified. The earring form is clean enough to work with minimal outfits and robust enough to sit alongside more complex pieces. Standard hook fitting for everyday wear.

Made at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility in Lahore, Meena is assembled by hand. Both stones, Fluorite and Brown Onyx, come from Baluchistan, part of Orah's direct regional sourcing network built over more than twelve years in Pakistan's gemstone trade. One pair.
