Nayyab - Natural Amethyst Ring

The Nayyab ring by Orah Jewels features raw, natural amethyst set in sterling silver - the stone kept in its organic, uncut form to preserve the layered violet tones and irregular surface that polishing would remove. The word nayyab means rare or precious in Urdu; the ring earns both in the deliberate choice to leave the stone unaltered.

Amethyst is a variety of quartz whose purple is caused by iron impurities and natural irradiation during crystal growth. The rough form shows this origin more honestly than a faceted stone, which can appear uniform regardless of quality.
