Nisa - Peridot and White Topaz Silver Ring
From the Satrangi collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Nisa pairs natural peridot with white topaz in a single ring set in sterling silver. The peridot occupies the center, its yellow green tone the dominant presence, with white topaz positioned to either side as clear accent stones that frame without competing. The name nisa means women in Arabic and Urdu, a straightforward name for a ring with a direct and unfussy design logic.
Natural peridot is a gem variety of the mineral olivine, a magnesium iron silicate that forms deep in the earth's mantle and rises to the surface through volcanic and tectonic activity. Its green color comes from iron within the olivine crystal structure itself rather than from trace impurities, which means the color is consistent throughout the stone and cannot be altered by heat treatment. Pakistan's northern highland regions in KPK produce some of the world's finest peridot, with larger crystals and richer color saturation than most other global sources. The white topaz flanking the center stone is sourced from Skardu Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, a high altitude deposit in the Karakoram range known for producing topaz with exceptional clarity. White topaz in its colorless form has a high refractive index that produces strong light return, making it an effective framing stone that adds brilliance without introducing a competing color.
The ring is set in sterling silver with both stones in individual prong settings that allow light to pass through each gem from multiple angles. At US size 8.5, the face width accommodates the three stone layout without crowding. The ring sits at a moderate height on the finger and works across a range of wear contexts from everyday to occasion.
Made at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility in Lahore. Orah Jewels sources its peridot from KPK and its topaz from Skardu directly through a supply network built over twelve years of trade in Pakistani gemstones. One piece.
