The geometric patterning on the Damanis earrings is drawn directly from Makli Necropolis, Sindh - one of the world's largest historic burial grounds, where Indo-Persian stonework has endured for six hundred years. The carved latticework and interlocking angular forms are translated from sandstone wall to handworked brass by Orah's Lahore artisans.
Each earring is set with Mother of Pearl from the Makran Coast, Gwadar - Pakistan's own coastal nacre, with a warmth and depth distinct from imported shell. The combination of architectural geometry and real stone brings the earring out of the merely decorative.
At 1.9 inches, they carry enough presence to anchor a look without requiring anything else around them.
