Khaka-e-Neel - Lapis Lazuli Silver Necklace

Khaka-e-Neel is a statement silver necklace by Orah Jewels and Crafts, built around lapis lazuli beads and a bold oval lapis centerpiece set within an open geometric frame. Textured silver detailing and smaller gemstone accents give the piece a distinctive composition, balancing the organic color of the stone against a structured setting.

The lapis lazuli in Khaka-e-Neel is sourced from Badakhshan, Afghanistan, where deposits have been worked for more than six thousand years, making it one of the oldest continuously mined gemstone materials in the world. Its saturated blue comes from lazurite, a mineral that forms within the surrounding rock under specific metamorphic conditions, with fine threads of pyrite running through the stone as a natural signature rather than a flaw.

The open geometric frame holds the oval centerpiece slightly forward of the beaded chain, giving the necklace visible depth rather than sitting flat against the neck. The textured silver detailing catches light differently from the polished stone, adding contrast across the piece.
