Lapis lazuli from Badakhshan, Afghanistan - shaped into drop earrings by Afghan artisans working within Orah's supply network - carries the same deep blue that made this stone a trade commodity across three continents for six millennia. The silver-gold plated setting follows the natural form of the stone rather than correcting it into a standard shape.
The stone's characteristic deep ultramarine is flecked with natural pyrite - visible as fine gold threading that distinguishes genuine lapis from dyed imitation. Each drop is finished to a high polish, making the mineral structure visible across the surface.
