Sheesh Mahal-e-Rukh- Brass Earrings
The Sheesh Mahal-e-Rukh earrings by Orah Jewels are handcrafted in brass and take their design from the mirror mosaic architecture of the Sheesh Mahal in Lahore Fort. The Sheesh Mahal - Palace of Mirrors - was built under Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century: its ceiling and walls covered in thousands of mirrored glass pieces set in geometric plasterwork, designed to reflect candlelight in all directions.
The earring translates that reflected-light principle into a wearable form - the brass surface is worked with the clean, repeating geometric lines of the original Mughal interior. The result references Lahore's most recognized royal chamber without being directly representational.
Handcrafted at Orah Jewels and Crafts, Lahore. One pair at a time.
