Turquoise is a copper aluminum phosphate mineral - its blue-green color is produced by copper ions within the crystal lattice, shifting further toward green where iron replaces copper in higher concentrations.

Natural turquoise at this quality is identified by its consistent color and tight matrix - the dark veining visible at the surface is natural host rock, a structural feature that synthetic turquoise cannot authentically replicate. The stone is set low in a silver bezel to protect the stone's edges while keeping the full surface of the stone visible.
