Jahani - Turquoise Silver Ring
From the Jahan collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Jahani is a silver ring set with turquoise, its name drawn directly from the Shah Jahan Mosque in Thatta, where Mughal design and Sindhi craft heritage meet in a single structure.
Turquoise is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum, its sky blue produced by copper locked into the stone's structure while trace iron accounts for the faint green some stones carry at the edges. The turquoise in Jahani is sourced from Iran, from the Neyshabur mines in Khorasan province, a source that has supplied the world's most prized turquoise for over two thousand years and reached Sindh along the same Persian trade routes that carried the mosque's own tile craftsmen.
At US size 8.25, Jahani sets the turquoise in a simple silver band, keeping the focus on the color and history of the stone rather than an elaborate setting. Made in Lahore at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility. One piece.
