Shahbano - Turquoise Silver Earrings

From the Jahan collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Shahbano is a pair of silver earrings set entirely in turquoise, its name meaning queen, drawn from the regal scale of the Shah Jahan Mosque in Thatta.

Fine turquoise is judged mainly on the evenness of its color, stones with a uniform, unbroken blue command the highest value, while heavy veining or a patchy tone are considered lesser grade. The turquoise chosen for Shahbano is sourced from Neyshabur, in Khorasan province, Iran, a deposit mined for over two thousand years and still regarded as the benchmark against which other turquoise sources are measured.

At 1.5 inches, Shahbano keeps the turquoise as the sole focal point of each earring, its elegant form built for detail rather than length. Made in Lahore at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility. One pair.
