Takween - Natural Aventurine Wall Frame

Rs.8,775 Rs.13,500

Takween is a wall frame by Orah Jewels and Crafts, centered on the Quranic phrase Kun Faya Kun, meaning Be, and it is, rendered in calligraphy and set within a wood frame finished in gold toned molding. Natural aventurine gemstones are set around the calligraphy, sized at 12 x 12 Inches.

The aventurine in Takween comes from Swat Valley, KPK, part of the same mineral belt that has made the region known for colored gemstones for generations. The green color and light catching shimmer, called aventurescence, come from flecks of fuchsite mica scattered through the quartz, each stone showing a slightly different density of sparkle depending on how the mica settled as the stone formed.

Kun Faya Kun, meaning Be, and it is, is drawn from the Quran and describes the immediacy of divine creation, the idea that existence itself answers to a single word. The phrase is rendered in large calligraphy at the center of the frame, a piece meant to sit somewhere it will be read often, an entryway, a study, or a quiet corner of a home.

Made at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility in Lahore, with brass detailing and aventurine sourced and set in house.
