Afsana - Rose Quartz and Pink Sapphire Silver Ring

From the Jashan collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Afsana is a statement ring built around an uncut Rose Quartz center stone, its raw surface textured with the natural character of the mineral rather than the smoothness of a faceted cut. Surrounding it are accents of pink sapphire, small and precisely set, that pull the composition together into something cohesive and quietly dramatic. The pairing works because both stones share a color family but speak in entirely different registers, the quartz soft and diffuse, the sapphires sharp and refractive.

Rose Quartz is a variety of macrocrystalline quartz colored by trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, or by microscopic inclusions of a pink borosilicate mineral called dumpelite. Its color is rarely uniform, it deepens toward the core and fades at the edges, giving each stone a gradient that no lapidary can replicate through cutting. The uncut form used in Afsana preserves this natural gradient entirely. The stone in this ring was sourced through Orah Jewels' direct network, selected for density of color and surface quality.

The pink sapphires that ring the quartz center are corundum, the same mineral family as ruby, colored here by chromium and iron in a proportion that produces a warm, saturated pink rather than the cooler tones of lighter sapphires. They are faceted small and set close, designed to frame rather than compete. The silver band is cast with a slightly elevated crown setting that lifts the quartz center and gives the ring a dimensional quality visible even from a distance.
