Zeb - Natural Emerald Silver Earrings
From the Rani collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, earrings built for the length of the drop rather than the detail at the top. Zeb carries uncut Emerald stones from Swat Valley on a silver wire, the stones hanging free so they move with the ear, the green catching light differently with each shift.
Emerald from Swat Valley, KPK is among the most sought-after in the Asian market, forming in the talc-carbonate schist belt of the region where beryl crystallizes with chromium under conditions that produce a consistently warm, saturated green. The uncut form used in Zeb retains the surface character of the rough: not polished smooth, not shaped to any preset outline, but left with the natural planes and slight irregularity of the original crystal. This means each earring's stone catches light at the facets and planes that nature set rather than those a cutter imposed. The stones were sourced directly from Swat Valley through Orah Jewels and Crafts' supply network and inspected for color consistency and structural integrity in Lahore before being set.
The wire setting is simple and unobtrusive, the stone suspended so it drops 2.4 inches from the ear. The earrings are light enough for extended wear despite the length, the stone doing the visual work while the silver remains subordinate. They work well against both light and dark fabric, the green reading clearly in all lighting conditions.
