Gulabi Dhoop - Natural Rhodonite Necklace

Rs.8,500

From the Rangreza collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, a necklace named for the last color of the Basant sky. Gulabi Dhoop strings faceted Rhodonite stones from Gilgit-Baltistan along a warm gold tone brass chain, the stones spaced evenly so the pink reads continuously across the collarbone, punctuated by small geometric brass elements that add structure without interrupting the stone's soft rhythm.

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral, its pink produced by manganese within the crystal lattice, with black manganese oxide inclusions that run through each stone in natural vein patterns. The faceted cut amplifies the stone's internal color by allowing light to enter and refract through multiple surfaces simultaneously, which deepens the pink and brings out the contrast between the mineral's warm base color and its dark inclusions. Material from Gilgit-Baltistan carries a particularly warm, saturated pink that sits between coral and rose, giving the necklace a color character that is distinctive without being aggressive. Each stone is unique in how its inclusions are distributed, so the necklace has subtle variation across its full length rather than a mechanical repetition of identical pieces.

The geometric brass elements between the stones introduce a contemporary architectural detail, their clean angular forms providing a visual counterpoint to the organic irregularity of the rhodonite. The necklace falls at 16 inches, sitting at the collarbone where the stones lay flat and the color is immediately visible. It transitions from day to evening wear without adjustment, the stone's pink reading warmly under both natural and artificial light.
