Malikah - Natural Peridot Silver Ring

Rs.54,500

From the Rani collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, a ring where the design is drawn from what surrounds a place rather than from the place itself. Malikah takes the form of intertwined branches, the silver work replicating the organic crossing and texture of wood at the point where two limbs meet. At the center where the branches intersect, one faceted Peridot sits as the focal point, its cut chosen to draw light through the stone rather than contain it.

Peridot from Kohistan, a district in northern KPK, sits in a band of ultramafic geology that runs through some of the most mineralogically dense terrain in Pakistan. Kohistan peridot tends toward a bright, grassy green, with an iron content that produces color saturation you can read from a distance without any enhancement. The faceted cut amplifies this by breaking light into the stone from multiple entry points simultaneously, so the stone reads active rather than still. This stone was cut at the Orah Jewels lapidary in Lahore, where the proportions of the cut were determined by the actual dimensions of this individual rough piece rather than applied from a standard template. The rhodium finish on the silver preserves the surface and adds a cool white tone that sharpens the peridot's green by contrast.

The branch form is sculpted in relief, the silver surface textured to suggest bark without becoming decorative in a way that competes with the stone. The ring works wide but lies flat, the structural form creating visual weight without adding physical mass. At US size 7.5, the piece occupies the upper knuckle space confidently.
