Begum - Natural Peridot Silver Bracelet
From the Rani collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, a bracelet assembled from handmade loops rather than a solid frame. Begum links individually formed silver elements, each one holding a natural uncut piece of Peridot from Kohistan, KPK, the stones distributed along the full 9-inch length so the green wraps the wrist continuously rather than concentrating at a single point.
Peridot from Kohistan, KPK is produced in one of Pakistan's most mineralogically distinctive districts, where olivine-rich igneous rock at depths that correspond to the upper mantle creates the iron-bearing environment in which peridot forms. The iron in these stones produces a bright, grassy green with a warmth that is characteristic of Kohistan material as opposed to the more subdued, yellowish green of lower-altitude sources. Uncut stones preserve the natural formation surface, with the slight angular character of olivine crystal growth still visible in the outline of each piece. Because each stone in Begum is individual, the bracelet has a rhythm of slightly varying greens across the wrist rather than a uniform repeat, the variation coming from each stone's specific iron distribution and surface orientation. The stones were sourced directly from Kohistan and assembled into the bracelet's linked structure at the Orah Jewels facility in Lahore.
The loop construction gives the bracelet flexibility and movement on the wrist, each element shifting slightly as the hand moves, the stones catching light from different angles as they reorient. At 9 inches, the bracelet fits with some room to move, not tight against the skin. The weight is distributed across the full length, so no single area presses down on the wrist.
