Eternal Bloom - Lapis Lazuli Silver Pendant

Eternal Bloom is a silver pendant by Orah Jewels and Crafts, carved entirely from a single piece of natural lapis lazuli into the form of an open rose. Every petal is shaped by hand, turning the stone into a floral study rather than a simple cut gem.

The lapis lazuli used in Eternal Bloom is sourced from Badakhshan, Afghanistan, the same high altitude deposits that have supplied the stone for more than six thousand years. Its deep blue color comes from lazurite, a mineral that forms within the rock under specific metamorphic conditions, with natural flecks of pyrite catching light across the carved petals as the piece turns.

Carving a rose from a single block of lapis takes considerably longer than faceting or polishing a plain stone, since each petal has to be shaped and undercut without fracturing the rest of the piece. The result hangs as a single, sculptural pendant rather than a set stone.
