Gul-e-Makran - Mother of Pearl and Pink Tourmaline Silver Earrings

From the Sunheri Shaam collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Gul-e-Makran takes its colors from sunset along the Makran coast, pairing luminous mother of pearl with a small pink tourmaline.

The mother of pearl is natural, from Gwadar on Pakistan's Makran coast, formed in layers of nacre inside the shell that shift between cream and rose depending on the angle of light. The pink tourmaline beside it is sourced from Afghanistan, its color coming from trace manganese within the crystal, adding a single warmer point of color against the pearl's shifting tones.

The two materials are set together rather than apart, so the pearl's soft shimmer and the tourmaline's clear pink sit side by side in one small earring. At 1 Inch, the pair is light enough for daily wear.
