Lapis Muse - Lapis Lazuli Silver Pendant

Lapis Muse is a silver pendant by Orah Jewels and Crafts, carved from a single piece of natural lapis lazuli into an open rose form. Each petal is shaped entirely by hand, so no two roses in this design read exactly the same.

The lapis lazuli used in Lapis Muse is sourced from Badakhshan, Afghanistan, deposits that have supplied the stone for more than six thousand years. Its color comes from lazurite, formed within the surrounding rock under specific metamorphic conditions, and the natural pyrite flecks scattered through the stone catch light differently across each carved petal.

Carving a rose from a solid block of lapis takes far longer than faceting a plain stone, since each petal is undercut by hand without fracturing the surrounding material. The finished pendant hangs as a single sculptural piece rather than a set gem.

Made at the Orah Jewels and Crafts facility in Lahore. One piece.
