Mehar Neel - Lapis Lazuli Necklace

Mehar Neel is a silver necklace by Orah Jewels and Crafts, finished in warm gold plating and set with natural lapis lazuli in varying rounded shapes. The rich blue gemstones are linked in a flowing arrangement, creating movement and a distinctive handcrafted character.

The lapis lazuli in Mehar Neel is sourced from Badakhshan, Afghanistan, the same high altitude deposits that have supplied the stone for more than six thousand years. Its deep blue comes from lazurite, formed within the surrounding rock under specific metamorphic conditions, and the varied, rounded shapes used here are chosen for their individual color rather than cut to a uniform size.

The gold plated links connect each lapis stone individually along the chain, so the necklace moves naturally rather than sitting as a rigid strand. It adds a consistent touch of color to both everyday and occasion wear.
