Neel Sitara - Lapis Lazuli and White Topaz Silver Necklace

Rs.22,500

From the Sunheri Shaam collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Neel Sitara, blue star, sets a flat slab of lapis lazuli in a rectangular silver bezel, with a small faceted white topaz drop hanging below it.

The lapis is natural, from the Kokcha Valley mines of Badakhshan, Afghanistan, cut as a flat slab rather than a cabochon so its surface, lazurite blue with scattered pyrite, shows as one even plane. The white topaz below it is cut from stone mined in the Skardu region of Gilgit Baltistan, faceted to a pear drop that catches light the lapis cannot.

The two stones sit at different heights rather than side by side, so the pendant reads top to bottom: a block of deep blue, then one point of clear light swinging freely beneath it. It hangs on a fine silver chain at 9.8 Inches.

Made at Orah Jewels and Crafts in Lahore, with lapis sourced directly from Badakhshan and the silverwork finished by hand. One piece.
