Serena - Natural Peridot Silver Necklace

Serena is assembled from handmade silver links, each one set with a natural uncut piece of Peridot from Kohistan, KPK, the stones distributed across the full 14-inch length so the green is present throughout the piece rather than concentrated at a pendant.

Peridot from Kohistan, KPK forms in the ultramafic igneous rock of one of Pakistan's most geologically active districts, where the olivine-rich mantle environment produces the iron content that gives peridot its color. Kohistan peridot is characteristically bright and grassy, the iron at concentration levels that push the green toward the warm, saturated end of the spectrum rather than the pale yellow-green of lower-iron material. Uncut stones retain the original crystal surface of the olivine formation, each piece slightly different in outline and surface texture, which in a necklace like Serena means the green of each individual link element reads with slight variation in tone and character as the necklace lies on the body. No two pieces are identical, and the 14-inch construction means this variation is continuous across the collarbone. The stones were sourced by Orah Jewels and Crafts directly from Kohistan and each element assembled by hand in Lahore.

The necklace sits at 14 inches, falling at or just above the collarbone on most body types. The individually handmade links give the piece movement and flexibility that a rigid setting cannot achieve, the necklace conforming to the body as it is worn. The silver is bright and polished, the green of the peridot reading clearly against it.
