Bagh - Emerald Silver Ring
From the Sunheri Shaam collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Bagh takes its name from the Urdu word for garden, a fitting title for a ring that sets a natural emerald from Swat Valley into a silver band worked with a twisted wire design.
Swat Valley emerald has been recognized internationally since antiquity for a green comparable in quality to Colombian stones, its color produced by chromium and vanadium held within the beryl crystal. Orah Jewels sources this emerald directly from the Swat supply chain, a shorter path from mine to setting than most emerald reaches the market through.
The twisted wire band in Bagh is a texture choice rather than a plain setting, two strands of silver wound together to frame the emerald the way a trellis frames a single bloom in a garden bed, texture and color working as a pair rather than the stone standing alone.
