Dhoop - White Topaz Silver Necklace
From the Sunheri Shaam collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Dhoop means sunlight in Urdu, a pendant set with a natural white topaz from Skardu Valley, chosen specifically for the way it catches and scatters light without any color to filter it.
White topaz is an aluminum silicate that forms without the trace elements responsible for the blue or golden tones seen in other topaz varieties, relying instead on cut and clarity alone for its brilliance. Skardu Valley in Gilgit Baltistan has produced some of Pakistan's clearest topaz for decades, its pegmatite deposits cooling slowly enough to let crystals grow with minimal internal flaws. Historically, clean white topaz was used as one of the more convincing substitutes for diamond, long before modern simulants existed.
Set on a long chain designed to sit well past the collarbone, Dhoop keeps the stone as the singular point of brightness on the body, unfiltered by color, a small piece of caught sunlight worn close to the chest.
