Patta - Emerald Silver Ring
From the Sunheri Shaam collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, Patta takes its name from the Urdu word for leaf, and it carries the color to match: a natural emerald from Swat Valley, set into a silver band shaped with a distinct, unbroken line.
Swat emeralds have been known internationally since antiquity, valued alongside Colombian stones for a green that carries a slight warmth rather than a cold, blue undertone. This warmth comes from a particular balance of chromium and vanadium within the beryl crystal, a signature that gemologists use to identify Pakistani material specifically. Orah Jewels sources this emerald directly from the Swat Valley supply chain, keeping the stone as close as possible to its point of origin before it reaches Lahore for setting.
The silver band in Patta is left largely unadorned, a single continuous form that holds the emerald without framing it too heavily, letting the stone's natural green carry the visual weight of the piece.
