Nau Bahaar - Natural Nephrite Jade Earrings

Rs.5,000

From the Rangreza collection by Orah Jewels and Crafts, earrings that bring Basant's green from the gardens of Lahore to the ear. Nau Bahaar holds Nephrite Jade from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on geometric brass links, the stone drops shaped to preserve the natural density and depth of the jade, the green reading as rich and grounded even at a small scale.

Nephrite Jade from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is one of the two mineral varieties classified as jade, an actinolite-tremolite mineral that forms in a fibrous interlocking crystal structure that gives it exceptional toughness and a smooth, dense surface character. The green in nephrite comes from iron within the actinolite component of the mineral, producing a range from pale celadon through deep forest depending on the iron concentration. KPK nephrite tends toward a saturated, deep green with a smooth, slightly waxy surface that takes light differently from transparent or faceted stones, the color reading as solid and present rather than lit from within. Each stone drop carries subtle variation in tone across its surface, the natural structure of the mineral creating the variation rather than any treatment or coating.

The geometric brass links above the stone provide a warm structural contrast to the cool green of the nephrite, the clean angular forms of the metal framing the stone drops without competing with them visually. At 1.75 inches, the earrings are compact enough for everyday wear while carrying enough stone surface to read clearly. The green works against both warm and neutral tones in clothing.
